The problems lie mostly with the club hierarchy, as always, which means there is always a good player hidden in the mix who could be picked up for a song. In previous drops we could have picked up Rüdiger and Pavard for a song. Both went on to prove to be much better players than their presence at Stuttgart suggested. I suspect Sosa might be this year's bargain.
You recommended Sancho so highly that I thought he'd be the next Ronaldo. He's been the next Daniel James. Even in Dortmund I couldn't see what was so good about Sancho although I only watched a handful of games. So I was only worried about the jinx at the time and I couldn't comment about his qualities on the pitch. So yes, I'm skeptical of your new recommendation ie Sosa.

But I agree with your sentiment that we shouldn't go established and buy too few players.
He was really really good in Dortmund. There are no two ways about it. There is 100% a top player in him. Whether we'll see it at United remains to be seen.

For me he has one more season. One that isn't disrupted in a similar way to how we've seen Rashford reborn. If we're still not sold on him this time next year then it's time to move him on. I have a horrible feeling he'll be class again at his next club though. Probably more a United disease than a Sancho disease.
Too long. We can't reward mediocrity for 3 seasons. He must go. I don't care if he turns into a world class winger. He's been shit for us and he can't even get ahead of Garnacho. I do think there is a player there, but I don't care about potential. I want the output.

We can buy an other player with the money we get for him. Otherwise we'll have one fewer player and we need plenty to challenge next season.

Here's what I actually said dozer:
"...meanwhile, back on the subject of transfers, I too am not convinced that Sancho is a must. I'd rather see us concentrating on LB, RB, DMF and cover for Fernandes.
I'd be a lot more interested in bringing in Julian Brandt, at €40 million, who can play right across the midfield and would both cover and compliment Fernandes. Would then leave us with decent money to fix our other frailties.
Mind you dozer won't like another Dortmund player..."

Hardly a ringing endorsement for Sancho ,dozer, but not like you to let the truth get in the way of a wumming, is it...?
I present you this.
I'm not so sure I would want Kane anyway. Would mean moving away from the style of play I still hope we will install.
I'd take Sancho, nqat.
Sancho instead of Kane, ladies and gentlemen.

There were a lot more posts about Sancho. I wonder where they went. It's probably been pruned when we migrated to the new forum.

Fuck it, eh? Only a couple of hundred million on transfers and wages for Sancho. Where’s my next shiny toy.

Don’t kid yourself that he’s sellable either. We’re stuck with him for the time being anyway.

Neymar's representatives are talking to United. United deny this. But they're talking to someone - probably Qatar.

If they buy United I can 100% see Neymar coming.

It's a classic United / state signing. Ticks both boxes. United give a fuckton of money to another ageing galactico that comes with a load of baggage, while the new human rights abusing regime buys a megastar to placate fans and assert themselves in the market.

The Qatari circus would truly begin

I pay no mind to stuff like this. United have often been a stooge for players or clubs looking to stir the pot, either for a move or new contract.

If Qatar come and Neymar follows, I'd worry. He's not a Ten Hag player and he'd be contrary to the type of player we need to stay on the journey we're on. It'd be worry times.

The Neymar stuff is coming from L'Equipe. We're supposedly in "advanced talks".

I imagine he wants out cos he's being forced out by fans who even turned up at his house the other week and threatened him to leave. Also Qatar are selling a stake in PSG. The thought is they're beginning the process to offload the club, so Neymar's probably looking for the next suckers who'll pay his ridiculous state-funded wages.

Worse case scenario for us is if Qatar win the bid, get out of PSG because they can't stand the hassle, and go all in on United being their flagship project.

Neymar would be the first of many and if he wants out, there will only be a few possible destinations. United with Qatar would be one of them.

As for other possible destinations. Barca's finances are fucked. Perez at Real could possibly pull it out of the hat - never write them off, epsecially as Mbappe snubbed them. City wouldn't bite. Newcastle maybe but I reckon they're being cautious until City buy their innocence and the rules basically become null and void. Apart from that... maybe MLS? Seems to expensive though and maybe too early. He's very famous there though and 31 so...

Talk of Mason Mount for 50m. Never rated him and 50m for a player with 1 year left on a contract at a massively oversized Chelsea who need a firewall, is fucking ridiculous. So we'll probably do it.

We should be in for Ward-Prowse. Better and cheaper, and a proper set pieces specialist.
