True, we're still a long way off. But patience is needed. Rome wasn't built in a day...nor Fergie's success.
That’s why it’d be madness to sack Ten Hag.

We could all see Fergie was trying to change the culture and bring in young and/or hungry players. There were those that wanted a title within two years and famously hung the “ta-ra Fergie” banner but it was obvious root and branch reforms were happening.

I think it’s the same with Hag. The difference being that the demands are so much higher and the political situation is stupidly complex. Just imagine if the club bit the bullet, let him do his thing, we struggle in the short term but come out of the other side a refreshed United again. That’d be the dream scenario for me.

Fuck new ownership for now, the wage carousel will just keep spinning with richer owners in charge. IMO we’ll end up more PSG than City. A circus for whinging galacticos. We need a proper reset and blood money won’t do that.

Totally agree with most of that Felwin...still would like to see the back of the Glazers mind, though you're not wrong about not wishing to see us turned into another circus.

I want the glazers gone as much as the next sane fan. I know I’m a dreamer but I honestly think a world in which the club competes and stays true to its values is possible. We might not sign the biggest stars but as long as we’re well run, at some point the opportunities to get quality, hungry players and/or managers will present themselves.

Look how Liverpool lucked out with Klopp. They were shambolically ran until he turned up.

I don’t think Hag is anywhere near Fergie but he doesn’t take shit and he clearly wants to get us out of this mess.

Felwin, you're being vague as usual.
What's a reset mate? And let hag do his thing? Isn't that already the case? We're signing his Dutch/Ajax linked crap.

What exactly would you have the club do to improve?
Please be as specific as possible instead of peddling vague soundbites like "change the culture", "back the manager", "reset the club", "stays true to its values" etc etc.

Dozer, old buddy old pal. I’m an old fart. I grew up thinking the club represented working class values. That the red stood for socialism. That the club worked in the community to help the next generation. My dad told me stories about the teams after the war that toured the city picking up fans and talent. The way their striking red, white and black stood out in a grey post war world. The inspiration that came through busby, the tragedy of Munich, the recovery to become the first English champions of Europe.

That’s a culture, is it not? Inspiring young people to become the greatest they can be in spite of poverty?

I don’t see that at all at United nowadays, but I do see it in Tan Hag. How often has he said he wants to instill a culture and a mentality. It’d be great if he had a blank cheque and could do that with 2bn in one window, but he has to work in the financial and political reality of United in 2023. The club can’t accept a few seasons of mediocrity whilst we ship off high-earners and those that don’t fancy it. So we’re stuck.

That’s why I say I know I’m a dreamer. I’m being unrealistic here. But what is the fucking point otherwise? Seriously? If the choice is being true to the clubs roots and mediocre OR being successful with blood money and a load of overpaid mercenaries, I know where I am every day of the week.

I'm the exact same. It IS culture, it DOES mean something. If we believe it, act it, preach it then it still exists.

I think it's our duty as fans to keep this stuff alive amidst the vampires and shitblokes that want to commercialise football, turn it into a PR exercise for states, to sell insurance like 777 at Everton etc.

It's like that link Swamp posted about Bayern; as fans we need to keep pulling in this direction while the cunts running the club pull in the other - otherwise it's a lost cause, the game's gone, in England at least.

Amrabat looks really impressive. Both at left back and cm.
Granted, we played a b team but the signs are good.

Why are we scouting a player with a 120m euro clause? There's literally no money and no room on the credit card.

@FabrizioRomano
Benfica have no intention to open talks for João Neves in January despite Man United sending their scouts many times to track talented midfielder.

There’s same clause as Enzo Fernández one year ago into his contract: €120m.

Legit looking links to Muller

Hojlund will learn from him, but Muller's 34 and gonna score like 5-10 goals tops whilst taking up a huge chunk of the wage.

It's an expensive short term fix that doesn't fix a great deal
