Perhaps this is why they're making a lot of signings this season.Sid wrote: ↑5 months ago Premier League clubs set for restrictions on spending

Apparently the deal does have a buy back clauseJoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑5 months ago Seems way too cheap. We'd be far better off letting him go on loan, but if it is permanent, hopefully we have the sense to include a buy back clause.
Then it's the right thing to do. Our youth players have been shit. Loan moves are also crap. We need them to get out of the club on permanent deals and buy them back if any of them turn out to be good. Maintain good relationships with the players so they want to come back. Either way it's much better for their careers. They need game time on permanent deals.fat maradona wrote: ↑5 months agoApparently the deal does have a buy back clauseJoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑5 months ago Seems way too cheap. This summer's transfer spending has broken the previous record by a lot

Prem clubs finances are generally quite fucked. If it wasn't for the TV deals the chickens would come home to roost for many clubs. The latest crisis they have to navigate is the rise in inflation and the fact that households in the UK cut Sky, BT, Amazon etc so they can save money. The spending cap is much needed.

And all at a time where swathes of the population will soon be choosing whether to cook a meal or put the heating on, but not both.Sid wrote: ↑5 months ago This summer's transfer spending has broken the previous record by a lot

It's a fucking mad state of affairs - all to preserve & increase the profits of the energy companies. People are gonna die cos of it, but then mass death has been normalised thanks to the governments piss poor covid effort.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑5 months agoAnd all at a time where swathes of the population will soon be choosing whether to cook a meal or put the heating on, but not both.Sid wrote: ↑5 months ago This summer's transfer spending has broken the previous record by a lot

In other news Chelsea have signed Aubameyang. What is their transfer strategy exactly? They're just signing anyone and everyone.

What is their total spend? It must be hundreds of millions! Like you say, seems random “look at us we can spend what we like” strategy… does Tuchel even want the players?
Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans...
