Had it on the radio in the middle of the night, but switched to TV once it got exciting. Thought my prediction would come true when we smashed in 2 goals in quick succession, by all accounts Mexico were playing the occasion.
Definite red for us, Quansah is just young and reckless there. Definite pen for us too. Their pen was soft as fuck but the refs set a precedent by giving us a pen with that Modric challenge in the first game. IMO the Modric one was soft but the Kane one was borderline ludicrous. Kane doesn't impede the Mexican lad, they both kick each other but Kane gets a toe on the ball and kicks the underside of the other lad's foot. Apparently that's enough of an impediment for a pen.... fuck knows anymore.
As much as I dislike Tuchel and feared the worst once he made all the subs, England dug in, held on and looked fairly comfortable tbf.

I think the fact Mexico are shite helped england.
Norway are pretty average too. England have a very favourable draw.

We can still be sure that Tuchel will sub him on instead of Mainoo

I think what Dozer is trying to say is that he knew everything all along and that everyone else has no idea. What he knows and what everyone else knows changes between posts. - Felwin 31/10/2024

What the actual fuck. I'd say its beyond belief, but then when it comes to Fifa, it probably isn't. Total corruption. The other nations should say fuck it, and withdraw from the competition unless the rules are enforced. How are they getting away with this?

Worst bit about it is the shamelessness of it. White House confirmed that Trump phoned up Infantino. Two men that know there will be absolutely zero repercussions for them, whatever they do.Jason wrote: ↑1 month ago Anyone following this:

It'll never happen, but if Belgium boycotted and refused to play, I reckon most of the world would have their backs.
If the nations still in the competition actually had spines, they'd all boycott it tbf. But nothing will happen. Best we can hope for is Belgium battering the USA.
we can guarantee, though, that they'll be playing (at least) 12 menFelwin wrote: ↑1 month agoWorst bit about it is the shamelessness of it. White House confirmed that Trump phoned up Infantino. There's a really interesting documentary on Netflix about corruption in FIFA, mainly under Sepp Blatter, although it gives background to how it started under his predecessor, Joao Havelange.
It's called FIFA Uncovered. A little old but still worth watching
I would have thought that FIFA would clean up its act under Infantino. It hasn't.

It's got worse. A few days after FIFA gave Trump a peace prize, the FBI dropped their outstanding bribery charges.sheesh wrote: ↑1 month ago There's a really interesting documentary on Netflix about corruption in FIFA, mainly under Sepp Blatter, although it gives background to how it started under his predecessor, Joao Havelange.
