Whoever said it, Casemiro turned up as he always does. Nice that Hojlund got off the mark.

Have to win the next 3 games IMO. At least 5 of the 7 before the derby. Otherwise we’re looking at a really horrible season. Maybe a sacking.
I think that's a sensible way of looking at it. It's worth noting though that Bayern were shite last night but still score d 4 goals. They don't really have a way of playing yet, they're at the beginning of the project. But they still won comfortably. We're still very easy to play against.

We’re so easy to play against, aye. Feels like Hag wants to gegenpress but we just don’t have the players. This first couple of phases plus the attacking movement looked solid last night but the second we turn it over in midfield, the opposition drift past Eriksen and Casemiro with ease and we expose ourselves.

Really think Hag has to just accept it’s not going to work with these players in order to save his job. Think it’s as simple as asking Eriksen and Casemiro to play 5-10 yards deeper and maybe only push the left FB on. It’ll mean a bit more isolation for the front 4 but being so open will cost Hag his job before Xmas.

Sounds like this indirectly means get rid of anyone who's shit for a year or more.
Some people eventually see the light but it's too late by then.
I fear it could be too late for Ten Hag as well.

I think we need a bit of perspective here, as Felwin has already alluded to.
But for a dodgy penalty we would have drawn away from home against a Bayern side that, whilst it does have some issues, is firing pretty well. That despite a horrendous injury list.
On balance, I think we did pretty well, considering.

That's true but if these results continue no one's going to care if he's been unlucky. The club will fire him like they did other managers when the season started badly.
Jose and Ole lost their jobs quickly.

Oddly the clubs keep the crap players though.
They get years of time like Rashford who gave us 1 good season, last year, out of 8 seasons, but he refused to sign a contract and eventually signed for a good wage of almost 400k pw I think?
Even though the fans wanted him to stay the club should have gotten rid of him 2 years ago when he didn't extend.
And Rashford is relatively a success story in this scenario. Martial has always been crap.

The club is ruthless only with the manager.

Wum wum wum wum.

I saw an advert for the new Football Manager the other day. Prime opportunity for you to live out your dream.

Let us know how much you get for Sancho. I'd love to know what's possible with a big brain in charge of transfers.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Hag needs to make a tactical switch or else it's curtains for him. It won't be just the mounting losses, it'll be the players turning because they'll lose faith in his football ala Jose and Ole. He made changes last season, he showed pragmatism when needed. But this season he's sticking to his guns, perhaps because this is mostly his team. We're not asking to park the bus, just drop the midfielders a bit deeper to protect the injury ravaged defence. Maybe the wide forwards in some situations too.

Yeah agree with both of you. I get the sense Hag wanted to impose his system more this season after having to pragmatically make the best of things last season. But it hasn’t worked out that way, too many injuries, late transfers, etc. This season is looking a lot like a rehash of last season, but we might be even weaker in attack despite signing a promising 9.
