We're going into a cup final against a state machine with Wout Weghorst as our only recognised CF

What do you reckon, do we even have a chance?

A 1 in 5 chance I reckon. At best.

We have to hope it's a typical final at Wembley. I.e. shit, slow, bitty. I'd play Rashford, Bruno and Sancho across the front 3 and bring Fred into midfield with Caemiro and Eriksen for a bit of energy and chaos. Then we have to hope for a bit of luck, Dave to have a blinder and Rashford to finish the one counter attack through ball he'll get for a 1 on 1. And we have to score first.

Concede first and we're done.

I think we should start Garnacho. No use in bringing him on when we're 3-0 down. City have always been vulnerable in behind and we could do with his pace and directness so it's not just Rashford.

I'd go Garnacho, Rashford, Sancho across the front. Bruno at 10, Fred and Casemiro. That gives us plenty of pressing intent and pace to counter. Hoping that Fred and Sancho play as well as at they did at the weekend, otherwise it could get ugly quickly. Eriksen is a non-starter for me as I don't think he can physically compete against Rodri and Stones.

Backline is whatever we can scrape together but should hopefully be Shaw, Lindelof, Varane and Bissaka.

Really hope our players don't get overawed by the occasion. Ten Hag needs to remind them that City are the ones with something to lose. We have to be nasty and not let them settle into their rhythm.

Realistically I think 1 in 5 is generous, more a 1 in 10, maybe 15. But who knows, maybe some of them will do that stepping up that Dozer loves to see. It's happened before under Ole that we frustrated them and took our chances well. City are a different beast now though.

Not confident but you never know...

I think it will be an emphatic City win unfortunately. We’re not in the groove we were in back in Jan and Feb. if we were, I’d give us more of a chance.

It will probably be Weghorst’s last chance to win something in his career, so he’ll be up for it at least.

Not sure I'd play a traditional CF anyway. Need to surprise and unsettle City rather than doing the obvious.

indeed. i've sort of resolved to get depressed about it ahead of time so as to save energy later

I'll be happy with a 1 or 2-0 defeat. Just don't want to get thumped.

I think our best bet would be to set up the way Ole did away to Spurs (then riding high with Poch) shortly after he took over as interim. Play on the counter, obviously, but with a diamond 4 in midfield and two quick forwards who are both running the channel between full back and centre back. But who do we have besides Rashford who’s fit and fast? I’m not convinced about Rashford’s fitness for that matter…

Greenwood and Rash up top. Bruno behind them. And the two Brazilians plus one other midfielder behind him.

Maybe even play 3 CBs so that Shaw and Dalot can get wide in attack, make it four on four. City’s defenders shit themselves in an equally matched contest.
