Liverpool have had a fucking tragic season. I don't think they're getting enough flak for it. No CL football next season is catastrophic for a club that needs serious investment and has to work within FFP. They may need a new manager / direction entirely.
On the other hand, the extra CL money gives Ten Hag a lot more wriggle room to sign players within FFP. They're going to let quite a few players go as well which should help make up the losses. We can begin to streamline the squad with suitable, hungry players that Hag can work with.
So in theory at least we're on the way up and Liverpool are on the way down.

Yep. Some players can step up. Its impossible for the likes of Martial to step up. Sancho is another who can't step up. The ability isn't there. Antony despite his faults can step up sometimes so it's reasonable as fans to hope for it.
Liverpool spent very little money, done so poorly and are on our heels for 4th place. How is it that we've done well this season and they've been so tragic? Fans have higher standards for Liverpool but low standards for us.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑6 months ago Liverpool have had a fucking tragic season. I don't think they're getting enough flak for it. You can't have it both ways Trollzer. Can't criticise every player in the squad and then say we're all mental for having low standards.dozer wrote: ↑6 months agoLiverpool spent very little money, done so poorly and are on our heels for 4th place. The scousers are coming off the back of their most successful period since the 80s, we're coming off the back of our least successful period since the 80s. Might be why we accept that 4th is an achievement for us and 5th a failure for them.

Spot on. They’re being judged coming off the back of being the best side in the world whereas we were at our lowest point last season. Fuck the carabao cup, finishing where we have is an achievement which didn’t look possible based on last seasons shambles. Lots of trolls out there suggesting ETH hasn’t been as good as Top Reds make out, pointing out that a poor Liverpool side having a poor season are still only 4 points behind us. Stats are black and white. I reckon sort out the scouting department and back ETH, we’ll at least be a consistent top 4 side soon enough.

Yeah, lest we forget Liverpool were going for the quadruple then treble last season. Now they're out of the CL.Felwin wrote: ↑6 months agoYou can't have it both ways Trollzer. My point was more about whose set up better for the future, in theory at least. We're in a better position to build, and we're one season into our development. Liverpool need a bigger rebuild and maybe a new direction under a new manager.
All that is gonna cost money which has just got a lot harder thanks to no CL football and tightening FFP rules.
Also I wouldn't trust FSG to pick a good replacement when the time comes. They hit gold with Klopp who has shielded a lot of flak and shit decisions FSG have made - a point Neville keeps making. But there any other managers out there that can do the same other than Pep.
