I can understand resting players but he brings on academy unknowns like garnacho and some left back to chase a game.

He also rests some first teamers mid game with players out of position like Lindelof at right back. He was destroyed there.
He's having a look at the entire squad and trying different things to see if any of them have a future. There was the right mix of experience, quality (in theory at least) and youth to beat an alright team from la liga. But they couldn't cos they're shite and have no way of playing.

Hag will be depressed watching that. Our current 11 is probably the best 11 we have.

Yup, shows up the lack of depth in the squad. Right place to try it as this is a meaningless competition, imho.
He needs to keep the PL starting eleven safe through to January and, if possible, seek to add depth then.

Bit of a shit show that, really. We're very much lacking in depth and quality. Ronaldo looks done, Sancho has nothing about him really, Elanga will never be good enough. Casemiro is a destroyer but not great on the ball. We're seriously lacking in technical skill and creativity.

Sancho had about 20 minutes on the right to do something. Not sure it's fair to single him out. He's looked on the right track recently. Biggest concern is the drop off when Eriksen isn't on the field.

My view isn't limited to last night. Since signing, I've been underwhelmed tbh. I thought he was an 'edge of your seat' type player; he isn't. Can't beat a man, not direct, limited goals and assists return. We've been had for £75m.

Last season was like a triple whammy for him. Came back from the Euros cooked like a load of others. Took a while to adapt and then we collapsed into dross in the second half of the season. I’m judging him on this season like Varane.

Oh and every transfer is a swift bumming recently so you can’t pin that on him.

Feels like a big game this. I know its not CL but I’m looking forward to this. Be a good marker of progress from when we played them a few weeks ago.

The fact they only need a draw and we need a win, hopefully sets us up to be on the front foot. Nothing to lose. At ‘em lads!

Yeah they need to show some bottle. The confidence is high so we're in a good position to take em on.
