Erik Ten (points clear of Liverpool) Hag.
That's for you Dozer.
Erik Ten Hag
He's the real deal IMO. Watching back some highlights from yesterday and the way he used the players available was great. Dalot coming into midfield. Sancho staying high and wide and the right side doubling up on their full back. Allowed us to pin them back solving two problems at once. Keep the ball away from Maguire and Lindelof whilst grinding down the opposition.
Granted Forest were piss poor but that's precisely the sort of game we lose under Ole. He never had solutions, just banged on about the spirit of the club until Bruno saved the day.

You look at what he's had to navigate. He inherited a properly broken outfit. Toxic dressing room culture. No established style of play. The Ronaldo debacle, having to contend with his 80m captain centre back being totally the wrong fit, basically having no proper recognised striker for 2/3 of the season, the ongoing rape case with Greenwood, fighting on 4 fronts and the biggest fixture schedule in the country, the injury to Eriksen, double suspension of Casemiro, an ongoing sale process.
It's been as challenging a backdrop as you could really lay down, and he's taking it all on.
Still lots to do, but he's the man. No doubt.

Our home record is very good, which is often the sign of a team on the up. I think I’m happier at this stage than I was with any of our previous post-Ferguson managers. The biggest disadvantage he has compared to the previous managers is how weak the squad is in forward areas. Never seen a United squad like it.
Seriously?
You don't think he deserves any credit?
Remind me how many trophies ole won? That's a pretty defining result.
How many windows was ole backed with transfers?
The ronaldo shit show got ole the sack. Ten Hag managed it perfectly.
Utd were magic moments under ole, ten hag is trying to build a system.
Very similar to Dalglish's second stint in Liverpool in hindsight. Buy British. Use old school football logic. Summon the ghosts of the past.
If rumours are to be believed, almost all his signings will be cleared out in the summer. Bissaka, Maguire, Beek, Sancho, Pellistri.
Ronaldo, Cavani and James are already gone. Only Bruno and Diallo left. We 'll have lost 2-3 seasons with mostly average players or ones that don't fit.
Varane will still be here.Felwin wrote: ↑1 year agoVery similar to Dalglish's second stint in Liverpool in hindsight. Buy British. Use old school football logic. Summon the ghosts of the past.

Hag's signings may not last either.
Malacia isn't good enough to be a starter.
Casemiro and Eriksen will be around 33 in a couple of seasons, assuming we can challenge by then.
Weghorst and Sabitzer are loan deals and are both OK players.
Until recently the forum wasn't big on Antony. He's got promise at best. He'll need to do a lot more in offence and consistently so, before he can be considered a hit.
Only Martinez is a big success who we can expect to be a long term ten hag signing. If fact it's medium term say 3+ seasons.
I'm not attacking ten hag. It does look like he's bringing a positive change and a good system but I'm disregarding the results here. I'm just tempering all the praise he's getting in terms of results. The results aren't there yet. Newcastle's, Villa's and Brighton's managers have done better among the new ones.
