Looks like this could go south.
Jadon Sancho - Welcome.
I'm with Ten Hag. Purely because he's a straight talker. Handled Ronaldo perfectly and I think it's the same deal here. He's being really straight an honest with his assessment and Sancho doesn't like it.fat maradona wrote: ↑1 year ago https://www.skysports.com/football/news ... g-concerns

Shame he couldn't just knuckle down and take his chance. Can't see him playing again this season after openly challenging Ten Hag.

If he has a gripe or disagrees, go and speak to the manager privately. He's pissed on his chips. Maybe I'm just an old fuck but this sense of entitlement and cry baby whining with much of the younger generations gets right on my tits.
The days of your Robsons, Keanes, Hughes, Bruce are gone.

I'll admit I'm soft myself and always (often wrongly) try and see the good in people and see it from their persepctive. In this respect I think Sancho clearly has some issues that will stop him making it to the top but I question to what extent it's his fault.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑1 year ago If he has a gripe or disagrees, go and speak to the manager privately. I also think it's unfair to extrapolate traits that incredibly well paid, surrounded-by-sycophants young sportspeople show and tar all young people with that. You have to remember that social media gives a voice to people that previously never had one when we (or at least I) was growing up. The amount of mates I had that partied themselves to destruction or got in with bad people because they had no prospects in life. Those kids today can actually use the internet to learn about why they're being let down, meet others in the same position and share their opinion about it. And the reaction of older people tends to be "shut the fuck up, we never had nice trainers or an iphone growing up, you lot have no right to moan". What I would've given to have their power back in the 80s.
All this doesn't mean I don't want to see shithousing warriors playing for United as well. There's something about the spectacle of giving your all in sport that will always draw us in. Sancho clearly doesn't have that and if he's challenging Hag, then it's probably game over for him at least at United. There are plenty of clubs that will take him though. Dortmund would take him back in a heartbeat.

I'm in bad mood today Felwin. So I'm probably being a miserable and unfair fuck. I can - or can't really - imagine the pressure that comes with the shirt. And I'm hugely sympathetic to mental health issues as I've had issues with it myself. And I'm sure every generation says the same shit about the next etc. I just think attitude and work ethic counts for a lot, and I don't see it with him. Or Martial. Makes it harder to back them through tough times. There'd only one winner with this one.

The Sancho thing typifies the life of a promising footballer at a big club. They arrive with huge expectations but ultimately aren't equipped to deal with the pressures. It takes a unique mindset to succeed at a club like United and unfortunately I don't think Sancho has it. We've had some proper beasts that have succeeded, like Ronaldo and Rooney, and we've also had more than our fair share that just haven't lived up to billing.
I used to have a young lad that worked for me, he used to be part of the Forest youth team back in the mid-00's, even had trials with United at one point. He was a really good footballer by most standards but just didn't have 'it' to succeed even at Forest. He was telling me stories of lads that were unbelievably good but just didn't make it because of what it takes to be a professional 'baller.
I don't see any point in keeping Sancho in the team if he can't contribute and keeps out the likes of Garnacho and Diallo.

Fair play mate. I'm not having a go at you per se. Like I say, I might be wrong myself being soft on people. Obviously some need a kick up the arse sometimes. Fergie was really good at knowing which players could take it and which ones couldn't. I think even he'd be out of his depth these days though.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑1 year ago I'm in bad mood today Felwin. So I'm probably being a miserable and unfair fuck. I used to play powerleague about 15 years back with a lad who was in his early 20s and would absolutely blitz teams, skinning everyone. He was in the junior teams at United and briefly at the Stockport academy so there was a player in there to some extent. I always asked him why he wasn't at least playing non-league and he was just honest and said he much preferred his job and his family. Football was just a bit of fun for him. There must be players like that too that are really good and kind of get pushed into it without actually being as arsed as the fans want them to be,fat maradona wrote: ↑1 year ago I used to have a young lad that worked for me, he used to be part of the Forest youth team back in the mid-00's, even had trials with United at one point. We've just missed the window to cash him in.
