But if we're doing neither then ten hag needs to show progress.
Sacking the players is ten hags responsibility. Especially the expensive ones. He's doing it but he's not being ruthless enough. He's ruthless only when it comes to squad disciple. He must also be ruthless when the players don't do well enough.

A real top manager will do something very unconventional to get the club forward. Ten hag hasn't done that yet.

I'll happily take a bottom half finish if we sack all the crap and if we don't buy enough replacements. At least it'll be a sign of real change.

I went to the Palace cup game the other night and the difference in energy and pressing attitudes with Pellistri, Garnacho, Mejbri and Amrabat was palpable. Rashford was excellent in terms of goals return last season but he doesn't really press and his movement off the ball isn't great. It won't have been seen on the TV but when we have the ball at the back, the amount of times Pellistri especially was making runs in behind his full back to stretch the opposition and make space was excellent.

In terms of the squad, both to get us to where we need to be and to sort the culture out, we're going to need the likes of Amad, Garnacho, Hannibal, Pellistri, Mainoo and Gore to come good. Impressed with Gore - his low centre of gravity and sharpness on the ball looks miles ahead of a McTominay when he came through (or now!)

That's it, you miss so much on TV cos the camera just follows the action. I like to sit in the side stands so you can see all the movement off the ball. It's really obvious when someone isn't putting in a shift, as is the lack of movement as a whole.

Interesting to learn that about Pellistri. We need players that stretch play and make runs in behind. I think Hag will pick these players over the first teamers if they continue playing like this. It'll be up to the first teamers to play their way back in.

Mejbri ran a lot but I feel like he's lacking in quality.
He's young but his technique and quality need to improve significantly before he can be considered a starter.
Mainoo for instance shows a lot of quality in the few times hes played.

It was constant Sid. Great attitude and Hag was constantly applauding him for doing it, because he'd have to make that run 5 times for every one time the ball might arrive. You get that with breakthrough players, the energy and commitment to doing the ugly stuff. And the top sides get it from all. We've had too many players who act like billy big bollocks and seem to think its beneath them. I don't want to single anyone out, but Rashford has an air of that about him at times.

Anyway, I love watching the young lads play. For most of them, their souls look like they haven't had chance to be corrupted yet.
