With the fucking chuckle brothers that are Avram and Joel Glazer?? Bob Hope and fucking no hope, they are cretins.
Its a nonsense. The next stage is likely the announcement of a preferred bidder. That isn't even an agreement to sell. The actual sales process will take weeks, even once its agreed. Its not like buying a fucking car. How long does it take to buy a house? Even once your offer is accepted and if there's no chain? And a shit hot solicitor? A month? This is a multi-billion dollar company. There'll be share and stock options to sort, employment contracts, transfer for of assets and liabilities, background checks on the new owner(s) (don't laugh). All fucking sorts. People think the announcement of a preferred bidding is tantamount to something binding. It isn't. It just means the next stage of negotiation is limited to one interested party.

They're delaying either due to:
1. Awaiting CL confirmation
2. Creating urgency/desperation for the buyer
Both of which are to drive a higher price.

And probably to get the games finished so there's less opportunity for protest.

Fuck the Glazers wrote: 1 year ago There's an argument Nev makes for allowing a limited amount of external wealth into clubs to close the gap. This is cos he's put millions into Salford. But for me, is that even necessary. Well run clubs with good recruitment and the right expertise like Leicester, Brighton, Sheff United - loads of examples - can punch well above their weight and even win trophies.
This is exactly it. I have to admit, I was drawn in by that argument for a time when Fergie was still in charge and it looked like City might be a bit of a circus like Chelsea. Course it seemed unfair to have the two of them doped up to the eyeballs but glazernomics hadn't really bitten yet and it felt more like United could see them both off in terms of sheer pulling power,

10+ years down the line and it's clear I was naive. Rich clubs will always do well, if only in fits and starts when they have poor leadership, but true dominance comes from being able to take hits on the chin. The Glazers' model has seen to it that every hit - be it a poor transfer, poor managerial appointment or some bad luck here and there - has dealt a body blow that we've never really recovered from. Just slowly spiralled down.

City can absorb hits. Guardiola doesn't get on with the current CB? Release him and sign a new one. Full back is a rapist? Sign a new one. Striker complaining about game time? Sell him and buy two more. We had the might to be able to take a couple of hits too but it's been slowly pissed away to the point where we have to loan squad filler in January just to make up the numbers.

That's the true crime IMO. No matter what you say about United or Liverpool's dominance, it never created an unfair playing field. What Abu Dhabi have created goes against the very fabric of what sport should be.
Spot on. Pep & City have not had to operate under the same financial constraints that every other club has - including the great United and Liverpool teams of old, so it's easier to be dominant cos they have advantages that amount to cheating.

United were as dominant in the 90s as City are now, but then the Prem was inferior to la liga and serie a. English clubs were also struggling to rebuild in Europe after the Heysel ban. We had to convince players to join us or just simply miss out on them cos they went to Barca, Madrid, Milan or Juve instead. We also had to beat their best in the CL to win the treble.

Since then serie a has fallen off a cliff and la liga is going the same way. Both leagues have killed themselves essentially due to match fixing and / or financial fuckery. It's a good time to be a doped club cos the competition especially in Europe simply isn't there.

Interesting thread on the multi club model. City Group own 12 other clubs. All of them serve City by acting as feeder clubs, stockpiling talent etc. Chelsea were at it too. Abramovic secretly bankrolled Vitesse to the tune of 100m so they could take Chelsea players to get round FFP.

Qatar will no doubt build a multi club model at United.

According to the BBC, Jassim is now considering submitting a fifth bid and there’s a ‘feeling’ that the Qatari feels compelled to do so.

Looks like the Glazers have got their bidding war

The more money that goes to the Glazers, the less there will be left over for the club.

Its a shit show. The season is all but over, and we are no closer.

We are screwed, how can ETH do any kind of planning/transfers when he doesn't know who the owners will be, what the budget is.

Fucking glazer swamp rats, one last FU to the fans.
