I don't doubt racism is widespread in football. Listen to what kids are saying, it's legit. But Chelsea are particularly bad because of their history of right wing politics. It wasn't that long ago the cunts had actual nazis on the terraces. They were affiliated with various right wing groups including Combat 18. Now I imagine they just hang around the pubs around the ground. These are the same dickheads that send Abramovic anti semitic abuse and death threats.

not so sure it's a "debate". sheesh was posting a news article which is worth discussing to a point but, to be fair, that point doesn't go much further than "yes, it's disgusting and, sadly, doesn't seem much of a surprise".

If we all agree then it's not a debate but the minute someone posts some kind of contrary opinion then it becomes a debate. It's happened here before you know. It's amazing what some people find amusing..... My point is, with all that's gone on here recently i'd rather we identify as an anti-racism football forum and not tolerate any race baiting (which tbf we've made pretty clear now.). Displaying the KIO logo makes it pretty clear and is pro active rather than reactive.

If there are morons that think, just because we don't display it, this means it's a forum that accepts racism, casual or otherwise, then I invite them to post so we can call them cunts before I delete them and their bullshit.

I think the problem is for some people racism is dickheads shouting the N word at black people in the street. And now that happens a lot less it means racism has all but gone. But that's not true. It's still there, it's just the focus has switched to institutionalised racism which is more subtle than some daft cunt gobbing off in the street but as bullshit and unfair. It's why proportionally britain locks up more black people than america, why black kids in handsworth typically have less opportunities, more chance of dying in a police cell etc. That's were the debate has moved to now. Not just with racism, but patriarchy, class and capitalism.

I only get a sense of this because I follow and talk to academics and uni kids through various means because I'm a sad cunt (and I like winding them up), and I've noticed a huge shift to more radical beliefs for many since the 2008 crash and since neoliberalism has revealed its true face which is to take from the poor and give to the rich. As one tory said, the party is in crisis not because of May but because they can't sell the idea of capitalism to peope that have no capital - and no chance of getting any. That's why demographics from 18 to 46 year olds now back Labour's vision of socialism rather than the tories vision of neoliberalism, and why in one poll 51% of young americans said they don't believe in capitalism anymore.

Speaking of america I saw a debate on school shootings between 4 proper sussed knowledgable young people, and this young lass said if we're going to talk about white lads shooting up schools we have to talk about patriarchy. She put the last school shooting in to context of being a white lad with right wing beliefs shooting up a heavly jewish school in a white supremacist capitalist patriarchal society. I was like fuck yeah - after I'd googled the terms to find out what they meant. That's proper knowledge. That's what we should be talking about, not what records the cunts listen to. That inane shite just preserves the unfair power balance.

So yeah times have changed big time and it's seriously fucking eye opening and exciting
