Because he has a languid playing style and isn't the best defensively, and because he takes the ball in dangerous situations - if he's not on his game, he gifts the ball away in bad areas and switches off from his defensive duties.

Apart form the odd game, his current form has been his class.
He's played well in patches; perhaps 5 good games a season? I call that a fluke.
