Real have told FIFA that they're not going to play in the club world cup.
Next season it's a 32 team summer competition ala the world cup but for clubs. FIFA have put shitloads of time and money into it but Real are refusing.
Good tbf the players are already knackered and talk of a player strike has started to get real with the likes of Pep backing it.

I think they actually said 'we won't play for that money [20M I think], so if FIFA up the money, I can see Madrid changing their tune.

This is fucked

Other ligue un clubs are in serious trouble too according to this
https://www.theguardian.com/football/ar ... al-ligue-1
French football has struggled for TV deals partly cos it's fucking boring cos of state doped PSG. And also massive overspending. Both things are more severe in the Prem. Like ligue un, the new TV deals are smaller than previous. We have further to fall but one thing's for sure; the good times are over. We have to spend sustainably.

So Dortmund doubled their fee on him in a year. He's 31 years old.
Damn. Ineos should be hiring the entire Dortmund staff instead of their players.

Globalisation. New wealth, new markets, under the guise of 'giving United to the world' - whilst simultaneously pricing out working class mancunians, and anybody else in the world that can't afford their exorbitant ticket prices.
Also, they won't play games around the world. They just won't. They'll be played in the US, Qatar and Saudi cos they're the most profitable.

A quick word on Chelsea. They've got a 46 man playing squad. Soon to be 47 when they sign Felix. 55 if you include those on loan.
They have to submit a 25 man playing squad when the windows closes
They're obviously amortising players which is how they're managing to sign so many. But their annual amortisation bill is now more than 260m - aka more than the total revenue of most clubs.
It's not sustainable. Chelsea are a loss making club (370m total loss in last 3 seasons). They're also shit. They desperately need CL money but they finished 6th so for the first time in over 10 years they finished outside of the top 4 - despite spending 1.4bn. Also these players will want new deals if they're good. And then there's the two ongoing investigations into their affairs under Abramovic which threaten relegation.
They need to sell a chunk of players for high fees. But a player can't retain or improve their value if they don't play. So you end up selling your best performing players which is why they're looking at ditching Conor Gallagher. Everybody knows they need to sell.

Cheeky bid for cold Palmer on deadline day to ease their woes?
