My slice of optimism is based on the fire you feel from Amorim. I think the pig-headedness is a strength at the moment because he's showing that there'll be no bending to the will of the players.
IMO we see plenty of tweaks and signs that there could be flexibility. Fair he's not really had a choice, but he's slowly got Casemiro playing again when he looked done as a United player in this system. He adjusted to allow Garnacho to basically play as a winger but from 10 as it suits him much more. I get people will say that's his job and just the basics of being a manager but Ten Hag never figured out what to do with his flagship signing of Antony so it's not as easy as Amorim's making it look.
Sure a 433 manager might've got us a better league position but it would be the same old shit of fitting to the players, then they let the manager down and we're back to square one. Open heart surgery had to happen.
