You can't surely be comparing Ugarte to Fred?! Fred was a busy player, ran around a lot, had plenty of energy. But he couldn't read a game for shit, the ball and opposition player getting past him before he realised what was going on. I think we can already call Ugarte a good signing, simply because of how busy he is. We don't have another midfielder who can do that. The stupid thing is how Hag sold Fred, then Ineos had to correct him by signing a similar player so we actually had a busy cunt in the middle of the park.

Fair but it's early days. Ugarte should do better by virtue of having Amorim as manager, with him already having worked with him. Think you're being disingenuous with Fred. We clearly missed his energy last season and so far, that's what Ugarte has been providing. You're right, he's more intimidating but I'm not seeing a Keano or Gattuso style player, more a slower Kante who doesn't win the ball as cleanly. He does have that uncanny ability to avoid bookings where possible tbf, that could come in useful.
Let's hope he becomes integral under Amorim.
