But if the rumours are true then we're paying the release clause for the dutch striker. So there's no great negotiation there. No one else seems interested in this great deal for a top talent either.

We've bid 50m for Yoro, that's three times what Real bid for him. For a 18 year old centre back with a year left in his contract. That's overpaying, by a lot. He doesn't even want to join us. He's French btw.

We've bid 45m? for Branthwaithe. That's not been accepted so there's room for more. That's already a lot, again for a player that did not get picked for the England squad where the defence is the weak link. Maguire, if fit, would have started in the first 11. Will Branthwaithe start over him, here?

We've bid 50m for Delight. He's flopped at 2 big clubs and both tried to get rid of him. That bid could rise because Bayern want more I think. That's again overpaying by a lot. We're not doing things the difficult way and identifying cheaper talent.
There's a clear difference, previously we'd have been sat working on one deal for Braithwaite the whole summer, and when it's still not completed, pay 20mill over asking on deadline day.

We seem to be working multiple deals concurrently, thats a positive.

And let's wait a bit before casting judgement.

Yoro is a top talent, and Madrids offer hasn't been accepted, so not sure how that's relevant to utds, its not like madrids 30m euro offer was accepted.

Not a bad deal tbf, £28m and a 50% sell on clause. I think he’ll do well in France and get a big money move to Germany or Spain in a couple of seasons. Good luck to the lad, shame it didn’t work out with us.

Yup, good move. Gets him off the books and means he's no longer our PR problem.
Good luck to him.

100%

I'm not particularly arsed who we sign this window as long as the signings don't fall into the Casemiro or Antony categories. No fat wads blown on aging players or getting our pants pulled down because we're desperate. As long as that changes, we're turning the ship around slowly.

I expect results more in 25/26 and beyond. Probably a new coach, several windows of trimming/bolstering the squad and then we'll judge the changes Ineos are making.

Look Dozer, I know you're desperate for Ineos to be a fucking disaster so you can tell some people on the internet you were right all along, but at least don't be disingenuous with the facts.

Other teams not being interested in Zirkzee doesn't mean he won't fit/be any good. City fans I know say the same about Bruno all the time, too. As if he's a shit player just because City didn't sign him. Was anyone else interested in Firmino when the scousers signed him? He turned out to be the perfect forward to work with Mane and Salah.

Jason already covered the shit you're chatting over Yoro, "Seems a alot" but these are the deals other clubs do all the time and the going rate for the prem is 40-60m.

I reckon they'll pull out of the Branthwaite deal. Everton are desperate for their 70m to balance their PSR mess and I don't think we can afford that. We're calling their bluff. Whether or not he was picked for England is by-the-by. Neither was Grealish and he cost City 100m. Your logic makes zero sense.

Juventus didn't try and shift De Ligt, Bayern wanted him because he was consistently good - as he was when he emerged at Ajax. The injury problems started in Munich. IMO this deal is opportunistic and probably the one that worries me the most tbf. Could work out well, could be a disaster. Reminds me of Hargreaves with the injury stuff.

I'm completely happy with what INEOS have done so far. Things look much more optimistic under their leadership than before. There seems to be a plan with our transfer approach, and I'll reserve judgement on deals until they're done. Every one of the viable links we have to players, makes sense to me.

Yup, all sounds like it’s going in the right direction.
Can’t be easy, given how bad it’s been allowed to get.

Have we actually got any money? We just posted a 83m loss for the last quarter.

Where's the dosh?

Probably just an accounting loss.

I've had a quick look and there are lots of reports saying we have 35m to spend which is huge considering 300 of the 400m Hag has been given was on the credit card, and we've been relying on loans and unemployed players. So we've got some actual cash at least.

Our FFP position is tight and it's partly cos of the debt according to Sky.

But whose paying for the 50m upgrade to Carrington and emergency work on OT? Also are we close to breaching the 105m loss limit over 3 years?

I've not seen any financial analysis on United since Ratcliffe bought a stake.
