Another strong line up, I like how ETH is taking this preseason seriously.

1-0 down and a good example of how we can be easily exposed with the high line, because Maguire was never going to get back to stop that cross.

2-1 up and Martial showing signs of what he is capable of when he gives a fuck.

Apparently Sancho looked good 1st half. He could be a key player this season if he kicks on and brings some of his dortmund form/numbers.

Martial has all the skill in the world. If you had stuck ronaldos brain in his body at 17, he could have went on to be one of the best in the world, but he lacks the drive and ambition ronaldo had to be make the best of his abilities. Can he come back from this point? Who knows, maybe ETH can be the man to actually get him playing to his potential.

How well has Martial actually been coached and man managed?

Who knows, maybe Hag will be the person to give him his mojo and light his arse on fire.

Interesting that Garner hasn't had any game time so far. The younger lads are acquitting themselves well though.

Forest wanted to sign Garner permanently but that depended on what ETH thought of him. Couple more games in Australia so hopefully he'll get a chance to play.

How did we play? Can you see Hag's philosophy?

Early signs of it, yes, definitely.

Our younger players could flourish.

Sancho very bright. Martial again looking decent. Backbone exposed by the high line first half with Shaw, Lindelof and Maguire all caught out for their call.

But with the ball we're trying the right things, and without the ball there's one intensity and more coordinated press.

Plenty of room for improvement and we're limited by McFred in midfield as well as the lack of pace at the back. Zidane looks like he has something.

Positive early signs I'd say.

And what I would say is, the body language looks better and you can see a more obvious gravitas about Hag, and a respect from the players. I like what they're saying too - a sense of 'this is hard work, but it's what we've wanted and been lacking'.

We still need 2 or 3 quality players bring in this summer though.

ETH on Martial, thrown the ball in Martial's court and telling him it's up to himself to fulfil that potential. Still only 26, we may yet hope the real Martial stands up.
