fat maradona wrote: 1 year ago Fuck me Dozer, will you stop banging the same fucking drum. Rangnick was OUT OF MANAGEMENT between July 2019 to Nov 2021. I make that 29 months. He has since been at United for 3 months (Dec to Feb) and only into his 4th month. He was recruited to hold the fort between Dec and the end of the season and then move into an 'Advisor' role.

Ole was at United for 35 months, having been in management all the way through since leaving United as a reserves coach. During his nearly three years, he made nearly all of the players worse than when he took them on. Worse. In three fucking years.

Rangnick is NOT the man to improve this bunch of shite in a handful of months, that is the task for the next Manager. Rangnick is the man to improve our recruitment strategy and to put some sort of structure in place.

ffs
I don't wish to pick on Dozer here. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions after all.

I did reply to one of his posts a month or two ago, where I tried to explain why you can't pin everything on the manager. Not sure if you read this, Dozer?

We're all constantly banging on about the issues at the club. Stuff that's a culmination of years of incompetence.

I think it's fair to question the club's decision to hire an interim manager over a permanent replacement for Ole. The issue is that the whole club needs a restructure, and we've been talking about that for years. I thought Rangnick was brought in with that in mind. Dozer's posts seem to be more about Rangnick as an interim manager, losing sight of the bigger picture.
I wasn't attacking Rangnick about Lindelof at all.
I said he hasn't improved Lindelof one bit. Like Rashford, there's no hope when it comes to Lindelof. Guardiola or Klopp couldn't improve him.

Wow if there really are playing time clauses in their contracts, we’re fucked. Is that a common practice? That’s definitely the end of the manager’s authority.

I suppose I’m holding out a small hope that the people running the club have FINALLY gotten at least a small shred of a clue. Surely they care about money. Surely they care about learning how to not keep pissing money away?

But as a wise cunt once said, it’s the hope that kills you.

I'm not sure I agree about dozer's thoughts about Lindelöf. I think he has improved under Rangnick, but you need to see him alongside someone other than Hercules to see the improvement. Anyone who has to cover for Hercules is always going to be under pressure to make up for his mistakes.

They have a few players like Rudiger whose contracts are nearly up in 6 months and can't renew at the min cos of the sanctions. Worth a punt

I'd have Rudiger no problem. Should have lifted him years ago when Stuttgart got relegated and he was clearly one of their few class players.

For me, the game against Atleti was another demonstration that our players are checked out already. They just don't have their heads anywhere near the competitive zone that I'm sure you have to be in at that level. It's not just about effort, it's concentration too. They're just not sharp and tuned in. The club fucked up sacking Ole. As usual they did everything wrong. But the way they introduced Rangnick, being very emphatic that he was just filling in, was criminally stupid. The season was over right then. I mean, the season was already fucked, but it wasn't quite over.

I think Rashford is definitely someone who has checked out. That much was apparent when he came on yesterday. If we were to get a decent bid for him from another club, I'd strongly consider selling him. It would be best for all concerned if he were to move on.

The board will probably want to offer him a new contract, though, and that's part of the reason why we're in such a big mess. I fear he'll end up being someone else's problem.
