There'll be lots of middle aged men going in to meltdown if so, especially if he gets a new haircut to celebrate
I'm of two minds on that. On the one hand, it would nice to put all the drama behind us. On the other, I wouldn't be that confident of the club replacing him with someone else who has the kind of passing range he has, and I really want a top passer in our midfield. If he stayed, it would at least mean that we could focus on getting a great DM.
Aye, if Pog stays then we have to buy a quicker more agile and just better CDM. Cos a midfield consisting of two of Matic, Pog and McT is just too fucking slow. That's why Ole likes Fred cos he's more nimble and uses the ball quickly. It will also better protect the dumb twats at CB too.

If Pogba's signing a deal he's because only we're dumb enough to pay him so much.
Or perhaps he loses out on sponsorship revenue if he leaves. United do have the most fans.

If it's not the money then idk; deep inside I think he knows he can't get away with this crap in big clubs.
Real won't tolerate his inconsistencies. No way he'll succeed there.
His football won't work for Barca or Bayern,
Juve and PSG? Maybe but he might not even start there. Them like Real won't accept his mediocrity. PSG might tbf.

United are still a struggling club so he'll get opportunities here.
If we sign an other midfielder who's half as good as Bruno then Pogba won't start for us.
I thought that would be VDB but Ole doesn't seem to fancy him.

...we already have on Sid - he's called Donny van de Beek.

While we're on the subject of CBs, Sid, if we use van de Beek in midfield then McT can play at CB, alongside Bailly, instead of Hercules and Lindelflop. But of course that takes balls...or ambition...

I'd like to keep McT in CM, he could be a decent decent box-to-box midfielder. We've enough talent in the yoot to replace Maguire and Hoof but Ole is too weak to play them.

Re Pogba, if he stays then we need to put up with his inconsistent performances or Ole needs to play him in his preferred position and then sort out the other 2 midfield spots. If he stays then we need to replace him propertly but like bman says, can the club be trusted to do that?

Personally, I'd like him to stay. I'd also like Ole to grow some balls and make some proper decisions.

Not for me, he's not a quick box to box midfielder, he's more a silky Ozil / Fernandes type that likes to link play between lines. I'm on about a Vidal or Kante. Someone who can chase back and cover space / tackle to protect the slow cunts in defence, but also offer something going forward. I'd take Hargreaves, just some energy and quickness of play cos our midfield is still looking too Jose-like. Too many slow tall cunts.

I really do think you're wrong about van de Beek Sid. Trouble is we're not getting the chance to judge either way as Baggins won't play him, except as an emergency.

Pogba is too much of a specialist. He'll play well, in the left side of a midfield if he has 2 more midfielders helping him in the team.
Otherwise he's a central midfielder who can't play in central midfield.

That's like having a super car which can hit 100 in a couple of seconds only if very specific test conditions are met, otherwise its just your old Honda.

Today it felt like as if Van Nistelrooy was playing midfield. Completely ineffective
If Ole can't see this, he'll eventually be booted out. He couldn't see the need for a midfielder or a right back. It's not like that midfielder was meant to replace BOTH Fred and Mctominay. We need 2 dms.
