Re: Assessing our squad
Just goes to show how bad our recruitment is. Ok, so Varane has been with us 2.5 years but last season was his only decent season with us and so hardly £50m worth. But then Casemiro for £60m on a bumper 5 year contract made no sense when there was the likes of Tielemans going for free. An obscene am...

Re: Assessing our squad
I read earlier that both Casemiro and, more importantly, Martinez are back in full training. That's some welcome news. It'll be nice to have Casemiro back for a couple of games before his inevitable red card and suspension. ...just hope he's stayed off the mince pies. He's Brazilian, there's no way...

Re: Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III
So, it looks as though we have let Sancho go to Dortmund with them paying only a quarter of his wages. Its a missed opportunity to set an example on a wider basis, but I suppose the gamble the club is taking is that he goes back and recaptures his form, boosting his price tag for the summer. Right ...

Re: Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III
More talk of Muller ffs. The club has learned nothing. I can't imagine Ratcliffe has anything to do with this cos it's a classic post Fergie deal aka ageing player on the decline that's looking for a club stupid enough to give him a mega wage. This kind of shite has to end with the Ratcliffe era. L...

Re: Erik Ten Hag
However, where I struggle with him, is in his inability to set in place a playing style that’s clear, and his inability to solve obvious and consistent flaws in our game - which is strange, because unless I’m mis-remembering, I’m sure that a consistent feature of last season is that our 2nd half pe...
Re: Vs Forest
It’s because we aren’t incisive enough in that attacking third. We try and play too many passes and keep it congested and then try a Hollywood pass in frustration.
Re: Vs Forest
Shame Hojlund is ill but good to see Amad back from injury and on the bench.

Re: Erik Ten Hag
I'm happy to give Hag more time. We were one of the best teams in the league for a sustained period of time last season. Could have been new manager bounce, could have been the immediate impact of quality players like Martinez, Casemiro and Eriksen coupled with players like Bruno and Rashford making...

Re: Erik Ten Hag
My guess, for what it's worth, is that the Ratcliffe team will stick with ten Hag until the end of the season. That way they will have time to work out what changes are needed and whether he is the right manager for the future. If I were the chairman I'd look at what I want for the club and how I w...
